OVERNIGHTING

Late March 2023, we stayed for nine days at Veterans Park in Lawrenceburg, TN. We were surprised to be the only RV in their 12-site campground. There was electric and water at our site. The dump station was very easily accessed along the road coming in.
David Crockett State Park is very close by, as are many of the conveniences to be had in a small city. There is a bustling Amish flea market north of town and many horse and buggy encounters as expected.
As for Veterans Park itself, it's a beautiful setting along rustling Shoal Creek with a 1-mile paved loop trail. The campground is on the site of a former housing area that was revitalized after a flash flood in 1998. There are several monuments listing the names of local veterans that had perished from wars past. It's a popular place for walkers getting in their exercise, which is something we frequently practiced while there as the sounds and scenery made it quite enjoyable.
The last half mile driving to the park is a bit steep over a hill and we had doubts about fitting under the power lines, but had no clearance issues. At $20/night it was an absolute bargain and if in the area I most definitely will be staying there again.
