Facing Life's Challenges One Mile At A Time

Here on roadfronts, I'm discovering a bit about myself while taking the roads less traveled. I appreciate you following my adventures through the backroads and byways of America, uncovering hidden gems and beautiful scenery along the way.

about roadfronts

What if life changes and you can not do the things you once could. Accidents happen; aging happens; life happens. You wouldn’t think that one little slip would forever change how you walk or bring with it chronic pain. No more running or jumping, falling down from imbalance happens often, and discomfort makes getting restful sleep quite difficult.

I consider myself fortunate to have saved and made time for vacations, but many have been whirlwind cross-country expeditions within the constraints of our conflicting career schedules. With all of that hurrying, I feel ashamed for ignoring the debris and litter at many of those places, not taking the time to clean it up. Even if it’s not my doing, I can set a precedent and do better, which I aim to do.

The opportunity arose for me to pause my working life, take the time to travel, see and do many of those things I had been putting off for later. My future is now: I have sold the house, am traveling in a motorhome, with my Liberty in tow. Instead of speeding by all of those interstate off-ramps, I am intent on exploring the outlying landscapes and locales that few encounter.

I will strive to chronicle my new experiences and the challenges I have encountered to make them happen.
