I hope you and yours are having an exemplary Thanksgiving. We have many things in which to be thankful as we are spending the holidays here in southern Arizona with Jeff. Today, while I would normally be making a feast, we will be going to Sierra Vista for the holiday dinner at the Legion. Our tiny kitchen would make it difficult to make a whole turkey and trimmings. I could probably do it, but where would we put all of the leftovers, and there are only four of us.
We are thankful for selling the house, which helped us afford this chapter in our life, that the years of effort we put into improving it considerably helped our finances. Very thankful for Dean, Rodd, Lucy, Donna, Mary, Debbie, Scott, Kathryn, Pete, Brenda and many more for helping us pack and clear everything out. We are thankful to keep in touch with our friends in Tennessee, and that Mary has been a great help with our mail among many other things.
We are thankful that the motorhome has been a comfortable shelter with enough room for us, as well as the dogs and cat.
We are thankful that we’ve had this opportunity to travel. We’ve seen some amazing places, but for me, personally, I think the knowledge aspect has been most incredible. Learning about the path of the pronghorn, how many animals rely on prairie dogs, the boom to bust of ghost towns, that cryptobiotic soil exists, to name a few.
We are thankful to Chuck, Dennis, Warren & Debbie, who allowed us places to park for two months to visit with family and friends before heading toward the diverse horizon; that Mason joined for a couple days in Utah, and that Gene & Patty met up in Arizona.
We are thankful that our travels have been relatively trouble-free, that we haven’t been stuck on the side of the road or incurred any break-downs. We are thankful that the truck has gotten us to amazing destinations through very rough terrain with only one tow necessary.
We are thankful for our mistakes, as we’ve learned much trying to correct them and to do things better going forward.
We are thankful for the many new people we have met along the way: Dave & Theresa at Mille Lacs Lake, Joe, Jen and Rolanda at Lake Sakakawea, Laurie & Misty, Bryce & Rachel in Montana, Tom & Justine, Maria, Kayla, Ralene, Chris, Lars & Kim at Tetons, Craig at Flaming Gorge, Ryan in California... and so many more!
We are thankful for all that have followed along, reading our posts. It is very much appreciated!
Get out the tinsel and spread some cheer, for the holidays will soon be upon us.
