They say timing is everything, and that proved true with our view of the mesa while staying at a Boondockers Welcome site in Southwest Colorado. For most of the day, the bluffs appear as a dark masses against the sky, but as the sun begins to dip towards the horizon, it becomes mesmerizing to watch the glistening white strips develop. They don’t last very long, but they dramatically enhance the scene.

Sometimes in life, all it takes is a little light from the right direction for inspiration to materialize. Seeing this is a revelation of how just a little effort and emotion can change my lost feeling to a much better attitude. I was stubbornly refusing to take the second picture for days, but the story is nothing without it. Tom kept encouraging me, and I am glad and thankful that he kept at it, and he still does. He always encourages me to come see the sunset, the clouds, a bug, et cetera to spark my interest,.
This phenomenon greatly helped me to understand to take everything in life with more urgency: as moments disappear, opportunities are lost. We should avail oneself of each moment, and not let them vanish for non.
