FAILS & FIXES

Two nights in a row, we couldn’t figure out why the temperature dropped so fast, plummeting into the low 40’s INSIDE by morning. It got just below freezing outside, but usually it stays at least 10-20º warmer in here. We’d checked all the windows, the slide weatherstrips too, and couldn’t figure out where our heat went. Thankfully, we did not leave the furnace on overnight.

Yesterday, Al climbed on the roof to clean off the solar panels as we had a light rain the day before. While up there, he thought one thing didn’t look like the other. The kitchen MaxxAir vent was open. The culprit was found! At least the fan wasn’t on, and we’re glad that the hooded design prevents water coming in when it rains. We had the insulating cushion installed, too.

We don’t mind waking up to temps in the 50’s, as opening the blinds, letting the sun in, warms the motorhome within a half hour, sometimes less. I believe we sleep better when it’s chilly, too. Who doesn’t like extra blankets?
