The Wedge Overlook above the Little Grand Canyon was the last destination on our drive. It was around 35 miles from our campsite by Interstate 70, and the nearest paved road is about 21 miles from it. If you don’t mind driving gravel roads for that distance, this overlook provides spectacular views. There was only one other group at the first overlook, and only a pair of bicyclists at the second, so I think this is a lightly visited place. With the quietness, it is a place you could spend hours walking, sitting, and refelcting on life. From our vantage points along the ledge above the canyon, we marveled at the various layers of rock that have been exposed by the wind and rain. It is hard to believe that the little San Rafael River created this vast canyon. The pictures don’t really do it justice, but we hope you enjoy the captures of the views we saw there.

I feel better today, more optimistic, more hopeful. After a terrible night, it is a welcome sign. I still have much work to do, but at least it feels like the sun is shining. We sat outside for a while just pondering the vast landscape around us and took a short drive around this BLM checking out other campsites. I am thankful that each new day provides opportunities to correct mistakes, learn from them, and make plans to do better. We ended the night with some homemade pork tacos and catching up on videos.
