I MADE IT! It took me 59 years, 326 days, and 18.5 hours, but my feet finally touched the Pacific Ocean. The deep roar of the crashing waves resonated well before we saw any water. It enticed us across the sandy beach until we were standing at the edge of the ocean. The Pacific welcomed me by spitting up all over my feet and legs. I thought I was gauging where the waves would end, but the great waters pulled a fast one and sent in one bigger wave while I was standing there, leaving me to spend the rest of the evening with wet, soggy shoes, but It was worth it. We made it to the beach in time to get a glimpse of the waning sunset. Seeing the Pacific has been a bucket list item for me, and Tom deserves a big thank you for making sure I was able to get here, with additional thanks going to Ryan, who came with, and played the role of tour guide. It was as grand as I thought it would be, and it sure ended the day, and the week, on a high note. Maybe we will see it in daylight next.
Today was a travel day, and a long one at that. The drive was more miles than we normally do, and weirdly, the traffic was busy and backed up where we didn’t expect it, and not busy where we were expecting it. The traffic added at least an hour to our trip. After the tour and back at the motorhome, homemade mac’n’cheese and hot sausages hit the spot.
